For this week’s tip I’ll be continuing to share some of the content that I had to cut from my upcoming YouTube video on how to naturally optimize your anabolic hormone levels (because it would’ve been far too long).
This time it’s to eat orange peels!!! Or the peels / rinds of any citrus fruit (e.g. grapefruits, limes, etc.)
Why??
Because in addition to all their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, neuroprotective, skin, heart, and fat loss benefits…
Citrus fruit peels have extremely high levels of something called flavonoids, which are natural anti-aromatases (aka aromatase blockers).
Aromatase is an enzyme that takes testosterone and converts it into estrogen. So anything that blocks aromatase gives you the double benefit of more testosterone and less estrogen simultaneously (at least it’s a double benefit for men… for women, it depends on your age and current estrogen levels).
Studies have shown that long-term consumption of these citrus flavonoids boosts baseline testosterone levels in men by an average of 30%!!
(Tip: Blend them up into a smoothie. Eating them raw / whole kind of sucks.)
