Aloha my friend!I thought you’d appreciate a new, free newsletter that I’m starting called “Fitness-Tip Friday”, where once a week (on Fridays, if you didn’t guess ) I’ll share the most important fitness tip that was on my mind during that week! This newsletter will always be: Short (I’m talking less than a 1-minute read. No spam. No fluff.) Significant (Every tip will actually make a difference when applied) Science-Based (As with everything I do – and I’ll include links to relevant research articles when applicable) Then I’ll cap it off with a “Quote of the Week” that I believe will be relevant, motivational, and/or inspirational for you, and a “Deal of the Week,” which will generally be a special discount, offer, invite, etc. exclusively for subscribers. If I was wrong… my apologies! Please just reply “No” to this email and I’ll take you off the list. Without further ado, here’s the first installment of Fitness-Tip Friday – I hope you find some value in it! |

| The Tip:Never do more than 5 minutes of cardio right before you lift weights! Due to a physiological phenomenon known as the “interference effect”, it inhibits strength, power, and hypertrophy. So you won’t be able to lift as much… and the lifting you do won’t stimulate the same degree of muscle growth that it otherwise would (more details in my next YouTube video). Relevant research articles: 1) Interference of strength development by simultaneously training for strength and endurance; 2) Performance and Endocrine Responses to Differing Ratios of Concurrent Strength and Endurance Training; 3) A Meta-Analysis Examining Interference of Aerobic and Resistance Exercises |
